Carissa Green Reads

I read widely from many genres. Perhaps this blog will feature fewer ratings and reviews, but I certainly intend to write about my reading life - it's the subject I most find myself wanting to talk about.

Currently reading

D-Day: June 6, 1944: The Climactic Battle of WWII
Stephen E. Ambrose
Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege of Leningrad
M.T. Anderson
The Path Between the Seas
David McCullough
Chekhov Four Plays
Anton Chekhov, David Magarshack
The Gay Science: with a Prelude in Rhymes and an Appendix of Songs
Walter Kaufmann, Friedrich Nietzsche
A Kierkegaard Anthology
Robert W. Bretall

Slackin'

I finished nine books in February. That's a lot for me. Granted, I was on a binge, reading Sherman Alexie like a fiend on fire, in preparation for his event at U of M.

Today, we're half-way through March. Number of books finished for the month: 0. I'd better get on that.

I'm almost through my current "bath book" (historical romance). Only about 10 poems left in the Alexie volume I've been alternating with Dickinson. Less than 50 pages in the lit crit I've been picking at. Half-way through Alexie's "War Dances."

So I'm sure that by the end of the weekend I'll be on the board for the month.

Back to the books . . .
